Protein brownies
The next episode "Carina makes sweets out of funny ingredients"! After being so excited about Zucchini Oats for breakfast , I dined on chocolate brownies from kidney beans . A very strange combination that I discovered while browsing through some food blogs! Again,
No, you do not taste the kidney beans.
No, the brownies do not taste like chili con carne.
Like zucchini, kidney beans are almost tasteless. Perfect, as a basis for spicy or sweet dishes! Whichever spices you mix in.
(Are you interested in vegetarian protein alternatives? Let me know in the comments!)
The Texture of the brownies is smooth and juicy. I either ate them straight, or mixed them with yogurt and fruit. I hardly need strong sweetness (Tastebud detoxing praise!) , but without the chocolate drops the protein brownies would not have been sweet enough for me. So if you're used to strong sweetness, you should double the syrup amount or add dates.
