Forget fancy fitness gadgets that sooner or later will dust up in the basement. The basic equipment for sports beginners is absolutely simple!

Basic equipment for sports beginners

After sharing my 5 home gyms for sports starters , it's time to talk about the equipment! The nice thing is: you do not need much! Forget all the fitness gimmicks that are currently floating in the discounter world. You do not need ribbons, balls, or balance boards (alliteration is something nice 🙂), just a good pair of shoes, a mat, and a matching sports bra.

So you're well equipped for 99% of all exercises ! My basic equipment for sports beginners:

BASIC EQUIPMENT FOR SPORTS RECEIVERS

1 - Fitness Mat *: When choosing your mat, be careful of light padding and skid resistance. Especially for exercises you are lying, a padding is worth gold! But even your neighbor among you will be grateful if you make high knees./

2 - Top *: It does not necessarily have to be a super expensive, breathable sports shirt for starters. I just put on an old cotton shirt! But such a fancy shirt can be a great motivator and you'll feel a lot sportier with it.

3 - Sports Bra *: The second most important piece of clothing, especially if you have a big bosom have! I love my padded bra by Calvin Klein. It makes a nice shape and gives enough grip for living room workouts. Plus, it's so comfortable that I wear it on the couch to sleep on the weekend!

4 - Leggings *: Even if you never wear leggings because they're too tight for you and to "revealing" - I definitely recommend them for Youtube workouts! 1. Look at you no one, so no shame of hardships and 2. there is a risk with wide pants legs, that you get tangled in the fast jumping exercises. That's why I always wear leggings in sports, preferably with elastic, so I do not suddenly stand in underpants at the jumping jack!

5 - Dumbbells *: If you're not sure yet, If you like Youtube workouts, it's best to buy a pair of dumbbells at around 3-5kg for starters. I wish I'd had the Power Block Dumbbells (1.5 - 11 kg) * back then. They are not cheap, but they are more space efficient and more effective than single dumbbells.

6 - Shoes *: Good sports shoes are the name of the game! You should definitely invest here, especially if you use it for jogging. I wore the wrong shoes at the beginning of my sports career and promptly got knee pain! Let's advise you in a good sports shop.
