No, you do not taste the zucchini!
No, zoats do not taste like vegetables!
After clarifying the most important questions, I'll tell you about my new standard ingredient at breakfast: Zucchini! Zucchini has virtually no taste in itself, consists largely of water and has only 17 kcal/100 g. This makes the green vegetables perfect as a universal "filler", so to a side dish from which you can eat as much as you want.
Because often a small pile of food looks so unsatisfactory that the head thinks" I will not get sick of it anyway ". A large portion will satisfy your head much more, even if the calorie count is only slightly higher.
That's why I eat zucchini as an accompaniment to many of my meals to fill my stomach. Especially when you start to get fit, it is important that you do not feel that you are eating much less than before. So why not mix zucchini into your overnight oats? The basic recipe is once again absolutely simple: oatmeal and zucchini, a portion of liquid and the toppings and spices of your choice!
Zoat's recipe
Ingredients for 1 serving (200 kcal)
- 30 g zucchini
- 40 g tender oat flakes
- 100 ml liquid (coffee, milk, almond milk, rice milk, soy drink, water, coconut milk ...)
- 1/2 TL vanilla paste
- optional: maple syrup or sweet honey
Instructions
- Grate zucchini and milk Stir in vanilla paste and oatmeal.
- Let it soak overnight or for at least 3 hours.
- In the microwave, microwave for 20 seconds and add toppings.
Possible toppings:
Strawberries, bananas, coconut flakes, cinnamon, puffed quinoa/amaranth, honey, mango, oregos, yogurt, nuts ... Al read what you like and feel healthy!
Notes
If you're disgusted by the green pieces, just peel the zucchini before you grate it. It does not make any difference in taste!
Instead of maple syrup or honey, you can also mix in a mashed banana for the sweetness.
Shortly after mixing, your zoats should be wet, because the oatmeal will suck the humidity is still on overnight!
